As chief of the Air Refueling Control Team, leading a group of 20 U.S. and international airmen, I was intimately involved in all air refueling planning and execution of refueling operations over Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda, which initially did not go well. My team had to build the refueling plan for the Battle of Roberts Ridge, and I’ve interviewed eight other participants of this battle on my Lessons from the Cockpit podcast.
