Flying in: W24 is a non-towered field with a single asphalt runway, 10​/​28, 2,932 feet by 50 feet, currently listed in fair condition. Field elevation is 939 feet and 100LL is available. There is no landing fee. Fifty feet is narrow — most pilots are used to 75 or 100 — and under 3,000 feet of length in fair condition leaves less room for an untidy approach than a typical GA field. Runway 10 has no visual glideslope indicator; runway 28 has a tri-colour VASI. Taken together, that is exactly why the chapter asks newcomers to get a briefing rather than simply turning up.
