On June 1, 1937, Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, departed the U.S. on an easterly attempt to fly around the world. After completing nearly 22,000 miles of their journey, they departed Lae, New Guinea, on July 2, 1937, bound for Howland Island and simply vanished without a trace. Since that time, the world has been fascinated by the pair's fate, and Dr. Murphy will discuss the various theories seeking to explain their disappearance and ongoing efforts to pinpoint their location.
