Flying for the airlines, I learned that it’s cultural for pilots to fill out and submit NASA reports. They use NASAs as teaching tools in initial and in recurrent training. I found neither GA pilots nor CFIs use NASAs, nor understand how to fill them out properly. My talk will briefly discuss the history​/​origin of NASA reports; why NASA reports make CFIs, thus GA pilots, safer; give examples of great NASAs; briefly discuss the five criteria for filling one out; and show how to fill one out.
