Paoli Municipal Airport hosts Aviation Day 2026 — Airplanes & Automobiles, a combined fly-in and cruise-in on Saturday 17 October 2026, 08:00 to 16:00. On the day: plane rides, a car show, food trucks, bounce houses, activities and door prizes. A trophy goes to the "Long Hauler" — the pilot who flew the longest commute to get there, which is as good a reason as any to make the trip. It is built as a family day rather than a pilots-only event, so passengers, families and anyone from the community are welcome whether they arrive by air or by road. Flying in: I42 is a public, non-towered field with a single asphalt runway, 02​/​20, 3,302 feet long and 60 feet wide, listed in good condition. There are two-box PAPIs on both ends. Field elevation is 816 feet and 100LL is available. Note the width — 60 feet is narrower than the 75 to 100 feet many pilots are used to, which tends to make the runway look further away than it is on short final. The organisers describe the field as one of the most unique runways around, featuring a near-vertical 100-foot drop-off.
