Flight Training Lessons at KORL, KSFB

Hi, I'm David. As a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, I have built a solid foundation in aviation that has shaped my career since 2020. Previously, I served as a flight school manager, where I honed my leadership and organizational skills to help students succeed. Today, I'm a captain and company instructor for PlaneSense, where I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with aspiring pilots to ensure they receive the best training possible. I want to help you fly confident! [Check Ride Prep] Focus on critical areas such as flight maneuvers, regulations, and the Airmen Certification Standards (ACS). Go into a checkride feeling confident. [Rusty Pilot Training] Regain confidence and knowledge after a break from flying. Ensure a safe return with new updates on rules and theory. [Knowledge Test] Go into your FAA Knowledge Test feeling confident by participating in online tutoring sessions. Together, we will review key concepts, tackle practice questions, and address any areas where you may need extra support. [CFI Training] Join me for a couple of weeks as we learn to navigate and become a professional, thorough, and confident flight instructor. Training with me is not quick. We will ensure that you are ready to teach, and once you are, as a flight instructor I can help you get placement in the industry with my expansive network. While flight instructing most likely is not your career goal as a professional pilot, this will improve your knowledge and flying skills, allowing you to share your passion with other aspiring aviators.

Additional Notes

Flight training in the Orlando and Sanford, Florida area offers one of the most consistent and efficient environments in the U.S. for student pilots. With generally favorable weather year-round, students can expect a high number of flyable days, which helps maintain training continuity and reduce overall time to completion. That said, the region presents its own unique training considerations. Afternoon thunderstorms—especially during the summer months—are common and require careful planning around timing and weather patterns. Learning to interpret convective activity, radar trends, and storm avoidance becomes an important part of training in this area. Additionally, the airspace around Orlando can be busy and complex, with a mix of Class B, C, and D airspace, along with significant airline and training traffic. This provides valuable experience in radio communication, situational awareness, and operating in higher-density environments early in a pilot’s journey. Overall, training in Central Florida allows for faster progression due to weather consistency, while also building strong skills in traffic management and weather awareness—making it an excellent environment for both initial training and advanced ratings.
