Master CFI/ CFII, MEI; Expert in Mentoring at KCCO
I come from a General Aviation family. Both parents are GA pilots so we spent a lot of time around the airport. I joined the Navy and became a Naval Aviator, flew various helicopter models and the T-6B trainer. I found my calling in flight instruction and have been instructing both military and GA for well over a decade now. I most recently was the senior pilot in charge of training new Navy instructor pilots with over 100 Initial CFI applicants passing at a 99% initial pass rate. With a passion for mentoring and fostering growth in the aviation field, I strive to support student pilots in achieving their goals while emphasizing safety and enjoyment in aviation. I remain active in AOPA, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the National Association of Flight Instructors, the Commemorative Air Force, and the International Aerobatics Club. My instructional style: I set the bar high from the beginning. I help my clients realize that, although the bar is high, we may not be expected to jump over it on the first try. I use my broad life experience to form useful anecdotes and analogies that help you understand concepts. My thorough use of scenario-based-training will ensure you are well prepared to aviator before we ever send you to a practical. You will learn, you will grow and you will succeed.
