Decades of professional aviation safety research, including the effects of low level wind shear on jet transports; unstable approaches; runway incursions; and the PEEMBO technique for modeling accident progressions. Additional research focused on general aviation loss of control, including detailed review of 600 NTSB reports. Pilot experience includes ATP/CFII with 3600 hours flown in 200 makes and models of aircraft. His Ph.D. is from MIT.
