Experienced teacher and aviation professional After graduating from university, I spent over a decade at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, mostly as a Structural Analysis Engineer, where I reviewed, analyzed, and tested airplane mechanical systems components to show compliance to FAA structural regulations and Boeing requirements. I created requirements and test plan and procedure documents for internal use and external suppliers; recorded and documented test results. I collaborated with and led large interdisciplinary teams to achieve significant program goals, including as test director for multiple major airplane-level certification events, and gained competencies in PATRAN​/​NASTRAN and CATIA. I then earned my Commercial Pilot Certificates (Airplane Single- and Multi-Engine Land) and Flight Instructor certificates, both with instrument ratings, and began work as a flight instructor, leveraging deep knowledge of regulations, procedures, and airmanship, as well as strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, to provide comprehensive flight and ground instruction to students seeking FAA certificates and ratings in a highly-structured Part 141 environment. I was also a designated Part 141 Check Instructor. Then I was fortunate enough to join first Contour Aviation, where I worked as a first officer on CRJ-200 jet aircraft, transporting high-net-worth individuals and their guests in charter service around North America, and then Flexjet, where I flew the Phenom 300 as a First Officer and then a Captain. I was delighted to join United Airlines as a 737 First Officer in 2023, and thoroughly enjoyed operating airliners around the continent and welcoming our customers to the Friendly Skies day in and day out. Right now I'm medically grounded for what will likely be 10 years, and feeling very fortunate to be starting as a Simulator Instructor at Piedmont Airlines.
