Young Eagles Day, San Diego, CA
First-Time Young Eagles Priority Most registrations will initially appear as waitlisted. We reserve a limited number of confirmed spots and prioritize first-time Young Eagles. When assigning flights, priority is given first to new flyers, then to returning participants based on registration time (earlier registrations receive priority). While we strive to fly every participant, flights are not guaranteed and depend on weather, aircraft availability, and pilot participation. Every event is powered entirely by volunteer pilots donating their aircraft, time, and expertise to inspire the next generation of aviators. Event Schedule 8:30 AM – Registration opens. 9:15 AM – Mandatory safety briefing for all Young Eagles and parents. Late arrivals after 9:15 AM may not be accommodated for a flight. If you are running late, please contact us as early as possible and we will assist if we are able. Safety is our highest priority. Donations We suggest a $6 cash lunch donation for parents/guardians. Lunch donations support EAA Chapter 14 and the Young Eagles program. Chapter 14 provides the equipment, facilities, insurance, safety infrastructure, and resources required to properly run these events. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we rely on community support to continue offering free flights and aviation education opportunities. Thank you in advance for any contribution you are able to make. If you choose to become a member, EAA Chapter 14 offers newsletters, monthly fly-outs, workshops, additional events, fly-ins, and community aviation programs for aviation enthusiasts of all ages. Support the Future of Aviation Each Young Eagles rally requires over 400 volunteer hours to plan and execute. These events are more than just flights — they are often a child’s first introduction to aviation and can become a lifelong core memory. Your support — through donations or volunteering — helps us provide free introductory flights and hands-on aviation experiences for youth ages 8–17, planting the seeds for future pilots, engineers, mechanics, and aerospace leaders. Talk with one of our EAA members at the event if you would like to learn more, get involved, or help pass the torch to the next generation.
