PLEASE READ THIS! EAA 878 Young Eagle Program The National EAA Organization allows chapters to structure their Young Eagle events as they choose.  Some events are more unstructured however, we like a scheduled event.   We feel this makes the best use of the Parents, Young Eagles, Pilots and Ground Support personnel’s time.   Therefore our events use the following format. The event starts at 9:30 am the 2nd Saturday of the month April September. ALL parents need to show up between 9:15 - 9:30 to sign in. Our event requires pre-registration through the icon below. E-mail is used through the website so pay attention to e-mails starting 2 days before the event. Look for a confirmation e-mail please select confirm or decline on this e-mail if you intend to come confirm I reserve the right to cancel anyone not confirmed on Friday, and your kids will not be allowed to fly on Saturday.  We have had too many no shows over the last several years and there are always others waiting for their chance to be a Young Eagle.  They will now get their chance if you do not confirm. Look for an e-mail the day before the event indicating whether we intend to fly the event.   Look for e-mails the day of the event prior to coming to the airport if the event is cancelled due to weather or for other reasons the cancellation will be done via an e-mail. We have found that some e-mails go into spam folders depending on e-mail servers and settings.  You can find if the event is cancelled by looking at our webpage event will say cancelled the day of the event. https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa878/young-eagles At 9:30 9:45 the Young Eagle Coordinators will assign the pilot to the Young Eagle. By 9:50 All Young Eagles will go with their pilot to the plane they will fly in for a preflight of the plane. Parents are allowed to go through the pre-flight procedure and take pictures during this time. Once pre-flight has taken place the Air Marshal will bring back all Young Eagles and Parents that are not in the first flight. The 1st group will go for their flight and the next group(s) will wait their turn to fly. After the flight the Young Eagles will collect their log book and certificate. Parents and Young Eagles can leave after the flight has taken place Pilots will be available after the event to answer questions about flying, flight instruction, etc. Thank you for your time and please consider if you will be able to comply with the guide lines above prior to registering for the event.   Kyle R.
