EAA Chapter 1707 opens Perkins Field Airport (U08) in Overton, Nevada to the community for its 2026 Airport Open House on Saturday, October 17, 2026, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific, weather permitting. Admission is free and everyone is welcome; you do not need to be a pilot or have a child flying.

See aircraft up close and meet the people who fly, build and maintain them, try the hands-on Cleco Challenge, work through the I Spy Adventure around the field, and think about which aircraft and which aviation career fit you. Free Young Eagles introductory flights are offered to youth aged 8 to 17 with a parent or legal guardian's signed approval, weather and operations permitting; registration opens September 1 on the chapter's Young Eagles page.

A raffle supports the chapter's youth programs: one winner takes home a Lightspeed Duke flight bag and BEX Wesley X aviator sunglasses. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20, in advance or at the open house, and entries close at noon on event day.
