LovettSTOL26 fly-in festival

Sat, Oct 3 · 9:00 AM3:00 PM (Pacific — Los Angeles)
12982 Axline Rd, Lovettsville, VA 20180, USA

Flying in: The runway is called 5/23 but it’s more like 6/25 (just part of the charm.) 2200 feet, excellent grass, elevation 520. We will probably land west, left traffic. The actual threshold is the gravel driveway - the white paint/chalk stripe is the STOL line, not a displaced threshold. Stripe is 600 feet from TH, 1600 remaining. You don’t have to hit the stripe if you need more runway. If you need more details/tips/etc. DM me. Use 122.9 we will have a Field Coordinator on freq. Be alert for various activities in the air and on the ground. Note this is a private non-towered field, the PIC is responsible for all risk.
There will also be an RC demo, fly-bys, and toilet paper cut. Field Coordinator will advise on 122.9 when they are up.
Driving in: Take Rt 287 to Lutheran Church Rd (fire station) and follow signs. If you insist on GPS use 12609 Lutheran Church Rd, do not use the airport from your GPS database, you will be on the wrong side.
Horseback: I dunno, do what you want. Don't poop on the runway.
The adjacent N/S strip *may* be available for overflow parking, watch these FB groups for info.
The event will open with a flag jumper and National Anthem.
You can play at spot landing on the line all you want! Heckling is allowed, even encouraged!!
Flour bombs will be available at the kids STEM table near the tiki bar. Bomb all you like. Make your run at treetop height (80 agl/600 msl), and advise on 122.9
STOL stripe and bombing target are painted on the runway, and marked with checkered feather flags. Distance markers at 100 foot intervals are alongside the runway.
Food will be in the STOL Kitchen next to the big hangar. All proceeds benefit Women In Aviation.
Stearman rides are provided by Virginia Tailwheel Academy, book through them at info@vatailwheelacademy.com
The Haywagon will depart near the car park as needed, and will also shuttle to the other strip.
The “Airplane Walk” - Our airshow announcer will be roving the grounds to interview pilots about their planes. All pilots who fly in get a snazzy velcro unit patch.
There will be plenty of shade tents and tables, bringing your own folding chair is a good idea. There are numerous good vantage points.
