CFI for IR knowledge test and logbook endorsement

I am a UK CAA PPL Holder who would like to also get an FAA PPL & IR. I happen to be in NYC in Dec and would like to do the IR knowledge test. Am I able to schedule a call with any CFI to obtain the logbook endorsement to sit the exam?
