Wings Flight Club hosts an AOPA Foundation Rusty Pilots seminar at Blue Grass Airport (LEX) in Lexington, KY on Saturday, September 12, 2026, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM EDT. Instruction is by AOPA Foundation Rusty Pilots Presenter Mark Boguski.

Rusty Pilots is AOPA's program for lapsed pilots who want to get back in the air. The morning walks through what has changed in general aviation since you last flew and refreshes your aviation knowledge alongside other returning pilots. There is no FAA checkride or test involved, you may not even need a medical certificate, and the session counts for two to three hours of ground instruction toward a flight review. FAA WINGS credit is offered; keep the email address on your FAASafety.gov account current when you register.

Cost: free for AOPA members. Non-members can join AOPA for $89 and attend at no charge, or pay $89 (plus payment processing fees) to attend without joining. Seats fill quickly, so pre-registration is encouraged: register with AOPA.
