An open discussion about the theory of ignition timing and its impact on internal combustion aircraft engines. Too much and too little advance, lean-of-peak operations, the impact of high and low compression pistons, forced induction, nitrous oxide (NO2), and more will be reviewed. This discussion is not ignition specific and is a great opportunity for anyone to learn the impact of adding electronic ignitions to their aircraft engine.
