ARRIVAL TIME: Before 8:00 a.m. YOU MUST ARRIVE BEFORE 8:00 AM TO BE CHECKED IN TO FLY! SAFETY BRIEFING: 8:00 a.m. IF YOU MISS THE SAFETY BRIEFING, YOU CANNOT FLY! WEIGHT RESTRICTION: Due to the size and type of aircraft flown, there is a Young Eagle weight limit of 200 lb. LOCATION: EAA Hangar 2000 S. Union Ave. at Bakersfield Municipal Airport across from Restaurant - CORNER OF WATTS & UNION AGE RANGE: 8 years – 17 years RULES: BE PUNCTUAL: Please arrive promptly at or before the registered time for check in and flight briefing. If you are not present for flight briefing, you will not be allowed to fly. CONFIRM/CANCEL: It is imperative that you “Confirm” or “Cancel” when you receive the 3-day email notice before the event. This assists us to coordinate our Pilots and Volunteers. Please ensure you enter a valid email address on the registration to ensure receipt of confirmation and cancellation updates. NO SHOW POLICY: If you no show without cancelling registration, or notifying the Young Eagles Coordinator, 2 times within one year, you will not be eligible to participate in the program for 6 months. ATTIRE RESTRICTIONS: No cowboy boots and no bling pocketed jeans. PLEASE NOTE: - We try to prioritize first time Young Eagles so that they receive flights before those who have flown at previous events. - NO ONE is allowed on tarmac without being accompanied by a Pilot or Ground Volunteer. - Everyone here representing Young Eagles is a volunteer. The pilots pay for fuel and maintenance for their aircraft in order to provide this opportunity to the Young Eagles. Please treat the volunteers, pilots, and the aircraft with respect. - EAA Chapter 71 reserves the right to refuse flights to anyone for misconduct, safety concerns, etc. WEATHER: If the weather is clearly not cooperating, and it is unsafe to fly, an email will be sent one hour before event on morning of event. We will not fly if it is not safe, so if the weather is marginal or changing we may make a go/no go decision at the event. — Skyfarer is not affiliated with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
