Training Overview
Our Private Pilot course is designed to guide you from your very first discovery flight all the way to a successful FAA checkride. We combine rigorous ground knowledge with hands-on flight training in single-engine aircraft. By joining our monthly flying club, students enjoy streamlined scheduling, community perks, and dedicated support from our in-house flight instructors.
Prerequisites Required
Must be at least 16 years old to solo and 17 to receive your certificate. You must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English. An FAA 3rd Class Medical Certificate (or BasicMed) and a Student Pilot Certificate are required prior to your first solo flight.
Specific Aircraft Access
You will train in well-maintained Piper Warriors and a Beechcraft Debonair. All aircraft are maintained on-field by certified A&P/IA mechanics to ensure the highest safety and compliance standards.

Session Breakdown
A standard training session lasts about 2 hours, which includes a pre-flight briefing, 1 to 1.5 hours of actual flight time, and a post-flight debrief. The curriculum progresses through foundational maneuvers, solo practice, cross-country navigation, and final checkride preparation.
Requirements
FAA minimums require 40 hours of total flight time (including 20 hours of dual instruction and 10 hours of solo flight), plus passing the FAA Private Pilot Written Exam and Practical Test (checkride).

Policy
Safety and compliance always come first. Weather cancellations are at the instructor's discretion with no penalty. Standard cancellations require at least 24 hours' notice to respect our instructors' schedules.
