I am an Independent CFI serving clients out of KPGD. Upon arrival you'll be given a brief ground school lesson from your instructor covering the basics of aviation - the principles of lift, communicating with the tower, etc. After this ground instruction you and your instructor will hop aboard a Cessna Skyhawk single-engine airplane for an exciting 30-minute flight! Your instructor will handle all the details such as communicating with Air Traffic Control, taxiing to the runway, take-off, and climbing to altitude. Once safely aloft, your instructor will allow YOU to control the airplane. You'll make gentle turns, maintain altitude, and hold speed & heading all on your own! Don't worry, your instructor is always ready to take over if the need arises or if you aren't comfortable with a certain maneuver.
