Hi there! My name is Kelly and I’d love to help you move the needle forward in your helicopter career. Whether you need help with aerodynamics, weather, study tips, or putting together your CFI materials, I look forward to helping you reach your aviation goals!
I’m a commercial and instrument-rated helicopter pilot, and a Certified flight instructor with my instrument instructor qualification with experience flying the Guimbal Cabri G2. In addition, I am a veteran of the USAF and served my time controlling B-52 bombers and civilian aircraft as an Approach Radar Air Traffic Controller for Minot International and Minot Air Force Base.
While I am a new CFI, my passion for helicopters and unique aviation background allow me to offer my students a more well-rounded and relatable training experience. I’m committed to helping students succeed and can support you in your journey toward becoming a skilled helicopter pilot or instructor. My services include:
- Helicopter Flight Instruction- From basic maneuvers to Cabri G2 specific instruction.
- Instrument Training- Instrument procedures can feel overwhelming, I'm here to help.

I had a great session with Kelly! She is super knowledgeable and provided several resources for me to start my journey. I was so excited about the books she recommended that I ordered them the minute we finished our call! I personally would recommend Kelly as a helicopter instructor, in fact I am signing up for more sessions and she is going to help guide me through my helicopter flight learning journey!

Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m an independent helicopter flight instructor with a diverse aviation background. Before becoming a pilot, I spent several years in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller, separating and controlling B-1 and B-52 bombers, as well as other military and civilian traffic. My role as an approach radar controller gave me a solid foundation in procedures and safety, and I also served as the airspace coordinator for the Powder River Training Complex, one of the largest military training areas in the U.S. After leaving the military, I spent two years pursuing a medical degree, but soon realized that radiology wasn’t for me. Instead, I followed my passion for aviation and have since earned my commercial and instrument ratings. I am now a Certified Flight Instructor with my instrument qualification. I currently fly the Guimbal Cabri G2 and love the challenge of helicopter flight. My air traffic control background has given me an in-depth understanding of instrument flying and procedures, which I’m excited to share with students. Flying has brought a sense of freedom and fulfillment to my life, and I’m passionate about helping others experience that same confidence and sense of accomplishment. I look forward to meeting you and helping you take the next step toward your helicopter goals!
