August 2025 Instructor Updates
Easier Post-Lesson Adjustments, Better Visibility, and Oshkosh Moments

1. New Post-Lesson Adjustment for Calendar Bookings is Live ✏️
In flight training, plans can change when you’re at the airport. Lessons may run longer than expected, or a student might need extra instruction. Until now, updating a booking after the fact hasn’t been as simple as it should be.
That’s no longer the case — our new payment flow update is now live, giving you more control and flexibility when finalizing lessons.
Here’s how it works:
- After the lesson, visit the booking’s transaction page.
- Click “Adjust Hours/Price” (located under the “Reschedule” button).
- Enter the actual total training hours — the system will automatically update the final amount.
- Once you submit the update, the student will see the revised charge that reflects the actual instruction time provided.
This update gives you more flexibility and ensures charges match the actual time of instruction provided.
2. SEO Improvements + Upcoming Digital File Support 🔍
We’ve been working on a number of small platform improvements, including:
- SEO Enhancements: Your listings now have improved visibility in Google Search, making it easier for students to find your training page.
- Next Feature – Digital File Support: Looking ahead, following the upcoming launch of our "Training Price Inquiries & Custom Requests" feature, our next update will introduce "File Attachments in Messages". Both you and your students will be able to send digital files (including images) directly in your conversations — perfect for sharing lesson materials, checklists, assignments, or other resources.
3. Skyfarer at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 🎙️
At this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, our Cofounder & Chief Aviation Officer Todd Davis joined Paul Preidecker, President of the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), for a live interview on EAA Radio.
The conversation covered:
- The origin of Skyfarer and our mission
- How we connect student pilots with instructors and schools to reduce training friction
- Todd’s personal flight training journey and experience
- The role of mentorship and the broader needs in the aviation training ecosystem
It was an honor to be part of this discussion at the world’s largest aviation gathering — and to spotlight the work of our flight instructor community.
