How to Use Google Calendar 2-Way Sync and Google Meet Integration at Skyfarer Academy

This guide will help you sync your Google Calendar with Skyfarer Academy’s booking system, ensuring seamless scheduling and video sessions with your students.

Step 1: Link Your Google Account

You can link your Google account when creating or editing your listing on the Availability page. This feature is available for all calendar booking type listings.

Here’s how to link your Google account:

  • Log into your Skyfarer Academy instructor account
  • Go to the Availability section under your listing creation or edit page
  • Choose the option to Link Google Account and sign in to your Google account
  • Once your Google account is linked, your calendar will be synced, making scheduling smoother for you and your students

Step 2: Syncing Events

When you receive and confirm a new booking request from a student, Skyfarer Academy will automatically sync the session with your Google Calendar. Here’s what happens:

  1. The system will create a new event in your Google Calendar once the booking is confirmed.
  2. This event will include a Google Meet link for the session.
  3. The Google Meet link will also be shown on the transaction page for easy access.

Additionally, if you add any other new events to your own Google Calendar, they will automatically sync with Skyfarer Academy, and your availability on the scheduling calendar will be updated accordingly.

Step 3: Using Google Meet for Sessions

For sessions booked through Skyfarer Academy, Google Meet links are generated automatically, streamlining your online meetings with students. Here’s how it works:

  • Once a booking is confirmed, the Google Meet link will be available in both your Google Calendar and the Skyfarer transaction page.
  • At the time of the session, simply click the link from your calendar or transaction page to launch the video meeting.

Q: What happens if I cancel or reschedule a session?
A: Currently, there isn’t an automatic sync for cancellations or rescheduling to your Google Calendar. The reschedule option is on our roadmap, and we plan to make it available within the next 1 to 2 months.

Q: Will my personal events sync to Skyfarer Academy?
A: Yes! Any new events you add to your Google Calendar will sync with your Skyfarer Academy calendar, reflecting your availability to students.
