AATD sim instruction for instrument or commercial
AATD level sims are an efficient, effective, and inexpensive way to train for your instrument rating or work toward the commercial. The FAA allows 20 of the 40 hours towards a part 61 instrument rating and 50 of the 250 towards a commercial. My sim is a One-G Foundation with Garmin 650 and flight director/autopilot. Also have a Redbird TD2 BATD with a G1000. Both are set up to emulate a Cessna 172. Free solo sim use (can't be logged). Retired 31 year career airline pilot. Current 757 PIC. CFII since 1980.

Training Overview
Learn and practice instrument procedures and approaches. The end goal is to give you experience and knowledge you can take home to your local flight school to finish up your instrument rating. I can do half an IFR rating under part 61 for about a third of the cost of training in an aircraft. No weather delays and I can simulate weather and failures not possible in an aircraft.
Prerequisites Required
The more you have studied before you start the faster and easier the training will be. Suggest having the IFR written passed and have studied the ASA IFR oral exam guide. Not mandatory, though. Will work with you with what you have when you show up. Can email some training materials and suggestions.
