December 2025 Instructor Updates

New Partnership & Media Features, Year Highlights, More Updates to Support the Broader Aviation Community

The end of the year brings a chance to look back on what we’ve built together. 2025 has been an important year for Skyfarer, and we wanted to share a few year-end updates with you.

December 20, 2025

1. Media Features & a New Partnership ✈️

Over the past several weeks, Skyfarer has been featured across several well-known aviation publications, including: State Aviation Journal, Aviation Week Network, AFM, along with other general aviation outlets.

In addition, we’re excited to share a new partnership with Sporty’s, focused on promoting quality flight training and supporting the pilot community together.

As part of this collaboration:

  • Student pilots on Skyfarer can access a special discount on Sporty’s Learn to Fly online ground school
  • Sporty’s has added Skyfarer to its internal portal and published a featured article highlighting our work
  • This partnership helps reinforce our shared focus on quality instruction and long-term pilot success.

2. 2025 Year Highlights 📊

2025 marks Skyfarer’s first full year. During this time, we:

  • Expanded from live online instruction into in-person flight training
  • Migrated instructors and pilot users from InstructAir to Skyfarer
  • Continued connecting more students, pilots, and aviation professionals nationwide

In November alone:

  • Nearly 10,000 listing views in Google Analytics
  • Over 63,000 Google search impressions

For a deeper look at what we’ve been building, we’ve published a year-end update here.

3. New Listing Type: “Ask Me a Quote” 🧾

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, we’ve officially rolled out a new listing type: “Ask Me a Quote.” Unlike calendar-based bookings, this option allows you to offer services where pricing is discussed before booking.

How it works:

  • You create a service listing describing what you offer
  • Customers request a quote
  • You respond with an offer
  • Once confirmed, the customer proceeds with payment

This is especially useful for specialized instruction, contract work, and non-standard services.

4. More Categories to Support the Aviation Community 🔧

We’ve just added new categories that naturally extend beyond flight training—while staying aligned with our mission and users:

  • GA training–related services, both flying and non-flying
    • Including contract pilot work, ferry and relocation flights, and corporate aviation support
    • As many instructors advance in their careers, Skyfarer is evolving alongside you to support the broader aviation ecosystem
  • Pilot gear and equipment resale, using a peer-to-peer model
    • Many pilots already trade gear through Facebook groups—this brings that activity into a more structured, aviation-focused marketplace

The updated site (Skyfarer 3.0) has just been soft-launched, and we’re prioritizing existing instructors. We expect to review and approve newly created listings over the holiday break.

If you’d like to get listed quickly, our team is happy to help. For contract pilot or ferry services, we can also duplicate your current listing into a new service listing, using either Ask Me a Quote or standard calendar booking.

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re preparing to launch important new updates and continue building toward our mission: supporting instructors, pilots, and aviation professionals at every stage of their journey.

We wish you a restful holiday season and blue skies ahead.

Onward and upward,
The Skyfarer Academy Team
