Record Growth, New Connections, Key Improvements & Pilot Webinar

The skies may be cooling, but things at Skyfarer are heating up. September brought strong numbers, new opportunities for connection, and the rollout of updates that make instruction smoother.

1. Platform Growth & Performance 🚀

September was a great milestone for Skyfarer! Our transaction volume for the month exceeded the total from April through June combined, the first three months of our in-person flight instruction expansion — a signal of continued growth and engagement across the platform.

We’ve also noticed a trend: more students are choosing to book directly after viewing instructor listings. If your listing is live, make sure your payout information is added — this ensures you can receive direct bookings and payments smoothly.

2. Training Request Support: Connecting Students & Instructors 🛫

Our newly launched Training Request feature has received a positive response. The total number of requests continues to rise as we promote it more actively across the platform.

This feature isn’t just for students — it’s built to help instructors too.

For students: It allows them to describe their goals and current training stage, so they can be matched with instructors who best fit their needs.
For instructors: Our team helps connect you with motivated students who are ready to book, while sharing important details like their preferred airports/areas, availability, aircraft access, and specific qualifications needed.

👉 Important: To be matched successfully, please make sure your listing is up to date with accurate training details and current availability.

3. Partnership Spotlight: Avemco Insurance 🧭

We’re proud to announce our new partnership with Avemco Insurance, a trusted name in aviation coverage — serving aircraft owners, renters, instructors, and student pilots alike.

This is an important addition to Skyfarer’s ecosystem. As you may have noticed, CFI insurance has always been a required field for instructor listings — and partnering with Avemco highlights just how essential it is to safeguard your work, finances, and passion for flight training.

You’ll now see an Avemco banner displayed on instructor profile pages, helping raise awareness among students and pilots while connecting instructors to reliable coverage options. This is just the beginning of our partnership, and we look forward to exploring more ways Skyfarer can support your instruction in the near future.

4. Platform Updates 💻

We’ve made several improvements over the past month to enhance usability and streamline the booking experience:

✅ Facebook login/signup now available alongside Google and email options.
📘 New FAQs section added to instructor booking pages to answer common student questions.
🏠 Updated homepage layout to help students find instructors and training options with fewer clicks.
🧩 Expanded training info pages, from "Become a Pilot", "Take a Discovery Flight", "Private Pilot" to "Certificate Endorsements, Currency Training & Checkouts". These pages help guide students and pilots through every stage of their journey — especially those pursuing the Part 61 path.

5. Upcoming Webinar: “Flight Training Insights for Students and Pilots”

Get ready for a special session featuring Greg Brown and John Niehaus — two respected voices in aviation training — in conversation with a Skyfarer representative.

This webinar aims to bring together students, pilots in training, and instructors for an open, engaging discussion about the real challenges and rewards of learning to fly.

Too often, students begin training with unclear expectations or even inconsistent guidance. Greg and John’s insights will help students and pilots gain clarity — and help instructors reconnect with their purpose — reminding us all why teaching and mentoring in aviation is so meaningful.
