Better Inquiry Details and “Contact More Near You” for Flight Training
Finding the right flight instructor or school often comes down to more than location. Your training goal, schedule, preferred airport, prior experience, and aircraft access can all affect whether a provider is the right fit — and how quickly they can give you a helpful answer. That is why we are improving the inquiry experience for flight instructors and schools on Skyfarer.
Our latest update introduces two new features designed to help students send better inquiries, help providers respond with more context, and make it easier to connect with nearby options.
Share More Helpful Details When You Reach Out
When contacting a flight instructor or school, students can now include a few optional details before sending their message.
These may include:
- Main training goal
- When you want to start
- Weekly availability or typical schedule
- Preferred airports
- Prior flight experience
- Whether you have access to an insured aircraft
All fields are optional. You can still send a simple message if you prefer. But adding these details can help instructors and schools understand your needs faster and respond more accurately.
Instead of starting with a vague message like, “Are you available?”, you can give the provider a clearer picture of what you are looking for — whether that is private pilot training, instrument training, a flight review, recurrent training, or help getting back into flying.
Inquiry Details Are Now Easier for Providers to See
For instructors and schools, these details now appear clearly at the top of the conversation thread.
This means providers do not have to dig through a long message or ask the same basic follow-up questions right away. They can quickly see the student’s goal, timing, schedule, preferred airports, experience level, and aircraft situation.
The result should be faster, more relevant replies — and a smoother first conversation for both sides.
Contact More Nearby Providers in One Step
We are also adding a new “Contact more near you” option.
When a student sends an inquiry to a flight instructor or school, Skyfarer may suggest other nearby providers who could also be a good fit. The student can choose to send the same inquiry to selected nearby providers at the same time.
Each provider receives the inquiry as its own separate conversation, with the same message and training details attached.
This is especially helpful in flight training, where instructor availability, aircraft access, airport location, and scheduling can vary widely. Instead of reaching out one by one, students can contact several relevant providers in a single step and improve their chances of getting a timely response.
Why This Matters
One of the biggest challenges in flight training is simply getting connected with the right person at the right time.
Students may not know what details to include in their first message. Providers may need more information before they can give a useful answer. And when a provider is unavailable or slow to respond, the student often has to start the search process again from scratch.
This update is designed to reduce that friction.
For students, it means:
- Better first messages
- Less repetitive back-and-forth
- A higher chance of getting a response
- An easier way to compare nearby options
For instructors and schools, it means:
- More qualified inquiries
- Clearer student intent
- Better context before replying
Less time spent asking basic intake questions
Keeping the Conversation on Skyfarer
These improvements also help keep important training conversations organized on Skyfarer.
By allowing students to share structured training details and contact nearby providers directly through the platform, both sides can keep messages, inquiry details, and next steps in one place.
This makes the process easier to manage and helps create a more trusted experience for everyone using the marketplace.
Part of a Bigger Conversion and Trust Layer
This update is part of our broader effort to make Skyfarer a more useful and reliable marketplace for aviation training.
We are continuing to improve how students find providers, how inquiries are sent, how providers receive context, and how both sides move from first contact to a real training relationship.
The goal is simple: help more students connect with the right flight instructor or school, faster.
