May 2026 Updates
Sharper Search, a Standout Q1, and Marketplace Shipping
May 29, 2026
A quick rundown of what we've shipped, what the numbers are telling us, and a couple of new perks worth knowing about. The short version: more pilots are finding Skyfarer, and we're building the tools to make sure they find you.
1. Product Updates
Getting Found, Everywhere Pilots Look: SEO and AEO
We've been putting more work into how Skyfarer shows up in search. That means the familiar side of things — traditional SEO, so instructors and programs rank when someone Googles "CFI near me" or "time-building program." But it increasingly means AEO too: answer-engine optimization, the discipline of being the source that AI assistant overviews cite when someone asks them where to train, who to fly with, or how to get started.
More and more people start their search by asking an AI, not a search bar. Our job is to make sure Skyfarer — and the instructors, schools and aviation professionals on it — are the answer that comes back. The early signal is encouraging: Google Search impressions are up 111% quarter over quarter (more on that below).
Advanced Booking: Fixed on mobile and iOS
We tracked down and resolved the issues affecting advanced booking on mobile web and the iOS app. Rescheduling lessons and post-booking time adjustments now work cleanly on the devices many of you are actually using between flights and on the ramp. If you'd held off on managing bookings from your phone, it's worth another look.
2. Q1 2026 vs Q4 2025: The Numbers
Skyfarer is getting more active, and the quarter-over-quarter story is one of compounding organic growth. People are arriving and actually using the platform — on-site search volume is up roughly 50%, which is one of the clearest product-market signals we watch.
Metric | Q1 2026 vs Q4 2025
- Active site visitors +46%
- Page views +34%
- On-site searches +52%
- Google Search impressions +111%
- User account creation +65%
- Total transactions +41%
- — of which, inquiries +67%
What this means for you: a wider, earlier-stage audience is coming through the door — more student pilots and customers, more browsers, more inquiries landing on Skyfarer listings. As that top-of-funnel audience grows, we're keeping a close eye on engagement quality per user, so the people reaching out are the right matches for your time. Growth that brings you better-fit leads, not just more clicks, is the goal.
3. New Skyfarer Hubs
Two new things worth knowing about if you're working to get your name in front of more pilots.
The Skyfarer Blog & Newsroom
Our blog has grown into a full aviation news and resources hub — flight training guides, FAA and industry news, gear reviews, and Skyfarer company updates, with fresh articles going up regularly.

Have news of your own? If your school, club, or operation has something to share — a new aircraft, a milestone, an event, a new rating on offer — send it our way and we can feature it. We also produce press releases and full editorial articles for aviation businesses that want a more in-depth, professionally written piece. Reach out to get started.
New: Websites Built for Aviation Businesses \
We've launched a website service built specifically for flight schools, CFIs, flying clubs, maintenance shops, FBOs, and other aviation operators — the rest of aviation that the big agencies and CRM platforms were never priced for.
The model is simple: one flat fee, no retainers, and you own the site outright. Skyfarer designs, writes, and builds it — typically in about 2 days to a week — with a mobile-first layout, an integrated lead-capture form, search-ready structure, your home field on a map, and copy written by people who actually know aviation.
- Basic: A polished single-page site. Ideal for independent instructors, clubs, and solo operators.
- Pro: A multi-page site with dedicated program and service pages, expanded SEO, and a photo gallery. Best for schools and multi-service operations.
Both packages include a free one-year Premium Listing on Skyfarer, so prospective customers can find you through two doors instead of one. It's built by the same team behind the marketplace — named to the Founder Institute FI 50 and featured across 20-plus aviation outlets.

4. New: Shipping Built Into the Pilot-to-Pilot Gear Marketplace
Selling a spare headset, a kneeboard, or a handheld between pilots just got a lot simpler. We've added a full set of shipping tools to the marketplace, so you can sell and ship without leaving Skyfarer:
- Buy and print labels in seconds. Quick label generation gets your gear in the mail without the trip to a counter or a separate shipping account.
- The best rates, built in. We're launching with discounted USPS rates, with FedEx, DHL, and UPS coming next — savings of up to 90% off retail.
- Tracking that keeps buyers in the loop. Tracking details now live right on the inbox page, so buyers can follow every step without messaging you for updates.
- Affordable insurance for sellers. Optional, low-cost shipping insurance protects you if something goes sideways in transit.

5. Partnerships Highlights
We partner with like-minded companies that solve real problems for working pilots. Here's who's worth your attention this month.
Quick Hangar: Never settle for the ramp again
If you've ever flown a student on a cross-country, parked on an unfamiliar ramp, and spent the night watching a weather app, Quick Hangar was built for exactly that moment. It's the first app-based marketplace for short-term hangar rentals — an hour, a day, or longer — and it's live on both iOS and Android.
The premise is simple. Founded by Dane Power, a Bonanza owner who spent five years on a hangar waitlist at his home field, the idea is that when a hangar is sitting empty, a visiting pilot should be able to use it. You book from your phone in under a minute, see real-time availability on a live map (green means open right now), and on smart-lock-equipped hangars you get keyless Bluetooth access the moment your reservation starts. The app even cross-checks the hangar's door width and dimensions against your aircraft's specs before it lets you book, so you're not guessing on fit.
Quick Hangar is live across 12 states and adding inventory week over week. Download the app at quickhangar.com, and when sign-up asks for a referral code, enter SKYFARER for exclusive benefits — new listers who use it may also qualify for an exclusive sign-up bonus once their hangar goes live. → Read the full partner profile: https://quickhangar.skyfareracademy.com/
Skywatch Insurance: Flexible CFI and renter coverage
Skywatch builds aviation insurance around how pilots actually fly. Instead of locking you into a fixed annual policy, they let you choose day, week, month, or yearly coverage — handy whether you instruct full-time, rent occasionally, or fly seasonally.
It's a fully digital, A-rated product, and you can pull a renter or CFI quote online in roughly two minutes. → Get a Skyfarer-partner quote: https://www.skywatch.ai/partner/skyfarer
