April 2026 Updates

Building Better Discovery, Bristell Demo Flight at Sun n Fun & Lightspeed Partnerships, and New Hubs

April 12, 2026

We’ve been heads-down building. Here’s everything new across the platform — from checkout upgrades and search improvements to two exciting new partnerships and a growing library of interactive aviation hubs.

1. Key Platform Updates

i. New Checkout “Transaction Fields”
Previously, customers could only add a general message before booking. Now, we can include custom fields tailored to specific listing types.

For listings using calendar booking flows, we’ve added:

  • Main goal for this booking
  • Other preferred dates/times
  • Preferred airports

This helps ensure you receive more relevant context upfront, reducing back-and-forth and improving the quality of each booking request.

ii. Core UX Upgrade — Intent-Driven Search & Breadcrumb Navigation
We’ve made meaningful improvements to how users discover listings:

  • New Search Bar (Homepage) — designed to better capture user intent and reduce friction from landing to discovery
  • Breadcrumb Navigation (Across Listings) — helps users orient themselves instantly, explore related listings, and navigate more naturally—especially those arriving via search engines

With Google impressions doubling and page views up 50% from Q4 2025 to Q1 2026, we’re seeing more intent-driven users exploring listings based on what they need.

iii. Verified Fields — Trust & Transparency (Coming Next)
We’ll soon be introducing Verified Fields across the platform — highlighting information verified by Skyfarer to help build trust with students and customers.

In flight training categories, this may include:

  • Instructor verification status
  • Specific credentials and certifications
  • Other relevant professional details

This will gradually extend across additional categories over time, helping create a more transparent experience and build greater trust.

2. New Partnership Highlights

New Partner — Bristell Aircraft (BRM Aero)**

We’ve partnered with BRM Aero (Bristell) to introduce a new generation of aircraft designed for efficiency and real-world training.

With growing momentum in the U.S.—and increasing relevance under upcoming MOSAIC changes—Bristell aircraft are becoming a compelling option for flight schools, CFIs, and pilots.

Fly a Bristell — Demo Flight (Sun ’n Fun 2026)

  • ~45-minute demo flight in a Bristell aircraft
  • Full experience ~2.5 hours including briefing, transfer, and debrief
  • Departing from Plant City Airport, Florida (KPCM)
  • Limited slots during Sun ’n Fun
  • Complimentary Bristell cap included

This is one of the best ways to evaluate a modern training aircraft—not just on paper, but in the air.

New Partner — Lightspeed Aviation

We’re excited to partner with Lightspeed Aviation to introduce their ANR headsets to our users at Skyfarer.

For many pilots, choosing a headset is one of the earliest—and most important—decisions in their training journey. It directly impacts communication clarity, comfort, and overall learning experience.

Through this partnership, Skyfarer users have access to:

  • $100 off the Lightspeed Zulu 3 ANR headset

We’ll also be working with the Lightspeed team on educational content to support both students and instructors.

3. New Skyfarer Hubs

Early on, we focused on building features to help people connect and book.

But through seeing how many of you actually use the platform, we’ve come to a clearer realization:

Skyfarer isn’t just about connections or transactions.

It’s also about making information and knowledge more accessible—and helping the industry navigate information that is often scattered, dense, or difficult to engage with.

Part 141 Modernization Hub

On April 1, the FAA released a 471-page report outlining recommendations to modernize Part 141 training. The comment period has been extended to May 11.

We built an interactive hub breaking down all 20 recommendations into something more practical and actionable—already picked up by General Aviation News and AFM.

FAA 2025 Pilot Statistics Hub

Every year, the FAA publishes updated pilot data—but it typically comes in dense spreadsheets that are difficult to interpret.

This year’s data shows:

  • Continued growth in the training pipeline
  • A meaningful milestone in the number of women entering aviation

Rather than just sharing raw data, we’ve turned it into an interactive experience so more people can engage with the insights.

Expanding Resources Across the Ecosystem

For student pilots: Pilot training information is often fragmented, and having a clear starting point matters more than we initially expected.

We’ve begun organizing these into a dedicated study hub: ppl-study.skyfareracademy.com →

For CFIs: Especially those just starting out, there are many unanswered questions that don’t always have a clear playbook.

We’re compiling insights, experiences, and practical guidance from instructors who have already been through it:

For aircraft transactions

Buying or selling an aircraft remains one of the more complex processes in aviation.

We’re building step-by-step guides to simplify that through clearer, structured resources:

Our Goal

Reduce friction—not just in booking, but in understanding—so users can move forward with more clarity and confidence.

This is still early for us. Alongside building the platform, we want Skyfarer to be a place where people can:

  • Find and act on services, products, and opportunities
  • Better understand the aviation industry they’re part of

We’d value your thoughts—if there are areas that feel underserved or unclear, we’d like to hear from you.

Onward and upward,
The Skyfarer Team
