March 2026 Updates
Growth, New Features, SEO Expansion & PPOT Partnership
March 17, 2026
Hard to believe we’re already on final approach to summer. We wanted to take a moment to share reflections on where Skyfarer is headed, what we’re seeing across the platform, and how we can continue building a stronger aviation community together.
Some of you joined Skyfarer when it first launched as a platform to help pilots find and book quality flight training and navigate their aviation journey. That mission remains the same.
Over the past few months, the platform has been growing faster than we expected — and with that growth comes new improvements, responsibilities, and opportunities.
1. A Quick Snapshot
In recent weeks, we’ve seen continued growth across Google search performance and on-site activity.
Back in June 2025, most Skyfarer pages on Google were ranking beyond position 40—meaning they were rarely seen by prospective students. Today, our average Google ranking position has improved to within the top 10 search results.
What this means in practice is simple: when students and pilots search for training, instructors, or aviation services, Skyfarer listings are now appearing much closer to the top of Google—where the majority of clicks happen.
As a result, we are receiving three-digit monthly inquiries from students and pilots across the country.
Many of these inquiries are from early-stage students who are just beginning their aviation journey and are looking for guidance before they even step into a cockpit. It’s a strong signal that there is real demand for accessible instruction, mentorship, aviation resources, and guidance — and that’s what Skyfarer is building toward.
2. Managing Training Inquiries and Student Communication
As the platform grows, we’ve observed that communication sometimes moves off-platform before a flight training booking is confirmed.
To protect both instructors and students, we’ve started implementing a system that restricts the exchange of direct contact information before a training booking is confirmed.
This change exists for several important reasons:
- Ensures secure payments and proper tracking of completed sessions
- Helps maintain fairness across the platform
- Improves your listing visibility — response activity and completed bookings contribute to higher ranking
- Allows Skyfarer to continue operating and investing in tools that support flight instructors, and bring more students
One of the core reasons Skyfarer was created is that independent instructors and smaller aviation businesses historically have had fewer tools and less visibility online compared to larger training organizations.
While Part 141 schools play an important role in aviation training, many pilots have learned—and continue to learn—through Part 61 instruction, mentorship, and individualized teaching.
For a long time, that side of aviation has simply been harder to discover online and receive proper support. Our goal is to help change that. Skyfarer aims to empower individual instructors, independent professionals, and small aviation businesses, while supporting the broader general aviation community.
Every instructor and aviation professional on the platform contributes to that mission. 3. Recent Platform Updates
i) More Listings Featured Across the Platform
Over the coming weeks, we will be launching a large set of aviation content and location pages across Skyfarer. These pages highlight instructors, flight schools, and aviation services across different regions and airports.
With a recent platform update, we can now automatically feature listings directly within these pages. This allows us to display relevant instructors, schools, and aviation professionals based on factors such as location, service category, and specialty areas.
By combining multiple listings with location- and service-specific keywords (such as airport, city, and training types), these pages are designed to be closely match what prospective students and pilots are searching for. This structure allows our pages to perform more strongly in search results compared to individual websites, increasing overall visibility for everyone listed.
When a visitor lands on one of these pages, they will also immediately see active and relevant listings. This enables us to scale our content significantly and improve discoverability across search engines. As we continue to publish these pages, we expect overall platform traffic and search visibility to increase substantially — increasing platform traffic by 5–10 times in the coming months.
For instructors and aviation businesses on Skyfarer, this means:
- More opportunities to appear on relevant aviation pages
- Increased visibility to pilots, students, and aircraft owners searching online
- Greater chances for your listing to be discovered through search and content pages
ii) Premium Listing Improvements
As more of you upgrade your listings, we've been rolling out additional tools and improvements designed to help you receive more inquiries and convert interest more efficiently: https://skyfareracademy.com/p/impact-with-content-premium-listing
One of our newest features is a direct inquiry form on the listing page. Prospects can now send you a message without needing to create an account or sign in first. These inquiries, along with the sender’s contact details, are delivered directly to your email—allowing you to follow up quickly while reducing friction for potential clients.
We’re already seeing that lowering friction at this stage helps increase inbound interest, especially from first-time students and prospects who are still exploring their options.
As we continue expanding platform traffic across search and content pages, premium listings will play an increasingly important role in helping you stand out and convert that traffic into actual inquiries.
Starting next month, we will also be adjusting the pricing structure for Premium Listings and Editorial Articles, with current pricing remaining available through March.
iii) Updated Response Rate & Response Time Metrics
After internal review, we’ve updated how Response Rate and Average Response Time are displayed.
To keep these metrics meaningful and fair, they will only appear if either:
- You have responded to at least one inquiry or booking request, or
- Your listing has received at least three inquiry threads
If a listing receives three or more inquiries without a response, the profile will display a 0% response rate, which can impact trust with students and clients. Maintaining timely responses helps improve both visibility and confidence.
4. New Partnerships and Benefits for Skyfarer Users
Professional Pilots of Tomorrow (PPOT)
We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Skyfarer and Professional Pilots of Tomorrow (PPOT). PPOT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mentorship and guidance to aspiring professional pilots across the U.S.
The organization connects thousands of student pilots with experienced mentors from the aviation industry, including airline, corporate, and military pilots, helping them navigate the path toward professional aviation careers.
Through this partnership, Skyfarer and PPOT will work together to expand access to mentorship, training resources, and industry connections.
As part of this collaboration, PPOT members will have access to 30-minute online introductory discovery sessions with instructors on Skyfarer, helping them explore training options and connect with experienced aviators. You can learn more about how this works here: https://support.skyfareracademy.com/hc/en-us/articles/47851645764379-How-the-30-Minute-Free-Online-Session-Works
We’re proud to work alongside organizations like PPOT that share the mission of making aviation more accessible and supportive for the next generation of pilots.
