February 2026 Updates

App Launch, New Features, Growth Tools & FSA Partnership

February 14, 2025

Happy February — we’re sending this out on Valentine’s Day, so consider it a small appreciation note for the instructors, schools, and aviation professionals helping build a stronger community across all 50 states.

There’s a lot happening. Here’s what’s new:

1. Skyfarer App Is Now Live on the Apple Store 📱

After weeks of design mockups, QA testing, and refinement, our mobile app is officially live on the Apple Store. This marks a new milestone as we continue building a more efficient and responsive platform experience.

There is a meaningful difference between web and mobile behavior. Web usage is typically intentional. A user sits down, searches for something specific, and completes a task. Mobile usage, however, becomes habitual. With the new app, you can:

  • Respond to inquiries faster
  • Manage messages on the go
  • Stay updated on transaction activity
  • Monitor engagement more easily

The app helps reduce delays and keeps conversations on-platform — improving response rates and conversion. It also lays the groundwork for future features: enhanced alerts, smarter notifications, and more seamless workflows.

With listings now across all 50 states, this strengthens communication, responsiveness, and opportunity for everyone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skyfarer/id6757820467

2. Turn Your Listing Into Real Growth 🚀

In the past 30 days alone:

  • 120,000+ Google impressions
  • 10,800+ on-site search events
  • 36,000+ page views
  • 7,000+ unique active users
  • Sustained double-digit month-over-month growth

Compared to just a year ago, most of these numbers have increased by over 15x (1,500%). Students and pilots are actively searching, and more of them are finding Skyfarer every month.

At the same time, we’ve heard from many of you who want a way to grow alongside Skyfarer, without having to manage SEO, content, or ongoing marketing yourselves.

So in January, we quietly introduced a set of enhanced visibility options for providers on Skyfarer. In addition to our Basic Listing (free, always), we now offer:

  • Premium Listing ($99/year): Add outbound links, phone number, featured search card placement, and assisted onboarding.
  • Editorial Article ($99/article): Build long-term authority and search presence around high-intent aviation keywords.
  • Growth Package ($249/year): Includes Premium Listing + 2 SEO-optimized editorial articles + featured sharing + visibility reporting.

Some recently upgraded are already seeing improved visibility. For example, we recently helped a flight instructor rank #1 on Google for several targeted keywords, and there’s definitely a lot we can do here for providers who want to stand out.

3. New Feature Updates: Apple ID Login, Response Rate & Response Time ⚙️

🔐 Apple ID Login

“Sign in with Apple” is now available for new Skyfarer accounts. This feature simplifies onboarding by allowing users to log in with Face ID, Touch ID, or their device passcode instead of remembering another password. Existing Skyfarer users can continue logging in as usual.

⏱ Response Rate & Response Time

We’ve introduced Response Rate and Average Response Time visibility on your profiles.

These metrics:

  • Measure how quickly and consistently you respond to inquiries
  • Are NOT affected by follow-up messages in ongoing conversations (i.e., they do not require you to send the final message in a thread)

In a modern platform like Skyfarer, response rate and response time are critical trust signals you can display. In aviation, reliability and timing matter. These metrics directly influence booking decisions and student/customer confidence.

4. New Partnership with Flight Simulation Association (FSA) & FlightSimExpo 🤝

We’re excited to share that Skyfarer is now an official partner of the Flight Simulation Association (FSA) and FlightSimExpo, one of the world’s largest flight simulation events: https://skyfareracademy.com/p/partnership-fsa-fsexpo

This partnership reflects a growing convergence across aviation: flight simulation is no longer just a standalone hobby — it’s increasingly part of how more pilots prepare, learn, and stay proficient.

Through this collaboration, Skyfarer and FSA are working together to connect better:

  • Flight simmers who are ready to transition into real-world training
  • Student and current pilots looking to use simulation more effectively

Skyfarer users can now receive 15% off an FSA Captain membership.

For instructors and professionals on Skyfarer, this partnership also means:

  • Increased visibility to a highly engaged aviation-adjacent audience
  • More informed, better-prepared pilots entering training or services
  • Continued expansion of a network connecting simulation, training, and real-world aviation

We see this as a step toward strengthening the broader aviation pipeline — from first interest to active flying and beyond. More to come as we roll this out over the coming months.

5. New Aircraft-for-Sale Category Added ✈️

One important observation: many students and pilots searching on Skyfarer for training are also aircraft owners or looking to purchase. Some have even used Skyfarer to find CFIs to ferry their newly purchased aircraft.

As we expand into broader aviation professional services, it has become clear that aircraft listings are part of the same upstream-to-downstream journey.

In a short period of time, we’ve onboarded more than 45 aircraft-for-sale listings. This new category strengthens the ecosystem by connecting aircraft buyers with sellers and brokers, ferry pilots, CFIs, and owners seeking transition training and related aviation services.

We’ll continue enhancing features and tools to further support this category, alongside instructors and aviation professionals.

Whether you’ve been with us since the early days or just recently joined, thank you for being part of Skyfarer. We’re excited about what 2026 holds and look forward to building it together.

Onward and upward,
The Skyfarer Academy Team
