Training Overview

“An Introductory Flight Experience is perfect for anyone who has always wanted to sit at the controls of an airplane but perhaps doesn’t know where to begin,” said Chris Erlanson, President of Tennessee Flight Training. “It’s a great way to share the joy of flying, and it’s truly an incredible experience – especially for someone who has everything or wants a life-changing experience.” Before departure, you’ll climb into the cockpit of a single-engine aircraft and sit in the pilot’s seat. After a short introduction to the flight instruments and controls, you and the instructor will take to the skies. During the flight, you’re likely to see highlights of Middle Tennessee, along with local lakes and rivers below. “Flying an aircraft is an experience unlike any other. If you have always dreamed of becoming a pilot, or just want to get a bird’s-eye view of Middle Tennessee, this is a great way to do it. The skies are calling!” Erlanson said. No prior flying experience is required for a Discovery Flight. Tennessee Flight Training’s FAA-certified instructors handle all the advanced flight maneuvers and let the student take the controls only when it’s safe to do so.
