I am a captain for American Airlines currently flying the MD-80 and is type-rated on the Boeing 727, 757, 767, DC-9, CL-65, LR-JET, and G-V. I am an airline pilot since 1989. My roots are deeply planted in general aviation where I have flown a wide variety of aircraft. I hold several flight instructor ratings and am recognized for my enthusiasm and ability to teach in way that simplifies complex procedures and concepts. I have been actively instructing since earning my Flight and Ground Instructor certificates in 1985. I also have been an FAA-designated examiner. I attended San Jose State University, and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and my Masters of Science Degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri. I regularly administer seminars about aviation safety and techniques to pilots varying in experience from students to professionals.
